Cherry and Oak Hanging Cabinet
Design
I used three different wood species on this project, cherry, red oak, and mahogany. I constructed the case from red oak using dovetail joinery.
The cherry doors used tradition tongue and groove construction with mahogany plywood panels.
The cabinet hardware consisted of heavy solid brass hinges and oiled bronze knobs. It can be attached to the wall using a French cleat. A mixture of tung oil and polyurthene provided the finish.
